Hickmans
x
Our brief from businessman and local Penarthian, Stuart Reid, was to create a space where he could meet friends and family, young and older, for something really good to eat and drink on his doorstep.
Taking this brief, we wanted to create a space which had different layers to it with an overarching theme of comfortable luxury with a quirky kick.
There are spaces within Hickmans where you can hunker down on your own to enjoy a gorgeous glass of wine whilst losing yourself in a book, meet friends for coffee and a catch up, get dressed up to dine and celebrate, party in the bar or on the roof terrace - or simply pop in for a pint after work.
My hope for the interior is that people who come to Hickmans feel as comfortable having a coffee as a glass of champagne and that the loft, private dining room, roof terrace, bar, restaurant and rooftop are all jostling for position as their ‘favourite spot.’ My feeling is that people will move around the different spaces - transitioning from coffee time to wine o'clock through to dinner and then pop to the bar before happily heading home.
I’d love people to see Hickmans as their second home - and one they simply won't want to leave.
